Who Is Liz Clarke?

Hi,

I’m Liz and I’m the membership secretary. That means that I have to make sure people renew their membership, give forms to the union and bsac, keep all the other forms in order, and help run the club as part of the committee.

I joined the club last year when I was in my first year. And I’m currently in my second year studying marine biology. I’m 20 years old I like reading, cooking, and making jewellery, as well of diving of course!

So come and find/text/email me if you have any problems to do with membership!

Committee Position:
Membership Secretary
Year Started Diving:
2006
Current Qualifications:
Ocean Diver
Number of Logged dives:
11 (would have been more but I’m extremely unlucky)
Best Dive Ever:
It was in Lanzarote, some other divers picked up a rock and smashed a sea urchin, and hundreds of fish swarmed round it eating bits of sea urchin and fighting over it. It was quite sick but really cool!
Most Educating Dive:

Probably one of my training dives, I had to lead the dive and make sure that Rob didn’t die/ get maimed/ lost etc.

Maddest Dive Ever:
That’s definitely got to be the time I had to be rescued in Stoney Cove in January, I got stuck upside down at the bottom. I’ve no idea how it happened though.
Why I Want To Dive:
I was sort of interested in diving before I joined the club, and Jodie grabbed me at freshers fair last year and now I’m hooked. Its fun, you can see you wouldn’t have a chance to see normally like wrecks and fish, and much better than just watching telly all the time.
If I was a marine animal, what would I be?
I would be a penguin, because they’re so cool and really cute. I think I’d be a dancing penguin not a singing one, but live at the north pole just to spite people.
